We lost our mum in May 2026 and knocked on Dewi’s door more by good luck than good judgement. Dewi and his team were just wonderful from minute one. They guided us through the process with respect, care and a little humour which is more valuable than you realise at the time. We never felt rushed or stressed throughout the planning. We were able to feed in our thoughts at each stage and Dewi just made it all happen. Mum’s funeral was a lovely day and Dewi’s team just move around quietly and efficiently so that everything runs smoothly. Dewi even made a diversion after the funeral service so that we could put Mum’s flowers on Dad’s grave. It was only a small thing but it meant the world to my sister and I.

When our lovely Mum passed away in early March at Brompton Lodge Care Home, we asked the staff who they recommended to look after Mum. They had no hesitation in recommending Dewi and his team, who we realised were based in Penrhyn Bay, only about 200 yards from where Mum was born, we believe it was fate.

Dewi contacted us the same day to confirm he had Mum and we arranged to meet him the following day. From the minute we met Dewi, although it was obviously a very sad time, we felt at ease. Dewi gently led us through the arrangements guiding us with the utmost respect for Mum, but he also seemed to know that we didn’t want to be sombre but remember Mum with love, and he brought a lightness and some smiles to our meeting. By the time Dewi left we had a time and date for Mum’s funeral, a venue booked for the wake, flowers sorted and a Celebrant booked. He did everything for us, it was such a relief.

We met Sam and some of the team before the funeral to sort out final arrangements, again very professional but kind and caring and we knew everything would be ok.

On the day of Mum’s funeral, our family were looked after so well and everything went very smoothly , Mum would have been so happy with the care and compassion we received at every point from Dewi, Sam and the Team and we can’t thank them enough.

They have continued to support us and we would have no hesitation in recommending their services at such a difficult time.

Dewi and Sam are lovely, kind people. They’re professional, efficient and very good at what they do – flexible, caring and compassionate service from a thoughtful, independent company. They told us exactly what we needed to know, were very accommodating – letting me visit them from outside of the area when it suited me. Dewi also seemingly knows everyone in the area so could help me coordinate the timings of external appointments for the paperwork etc in a way I couldn’t have done myself. They found us an excellent celebrant, Rebecca, and also helped us find a venue for the wake. They were always offering to go the extra mile to help us make things exactly how we wanted them to be. On the day of the funeral, they were kind to us all and faultlessly professional.
We would recommend them wholeheartedly, without reservation to anyone in the Penrhyn and Colwyn Bay area.

We had absolutely no hesitation in asking Dewi and his team to look after Mum after her recent passing.  They had looked after Dad 3 years ago and we knew from that experience that Mum would cared for in a sensitive, professional, and sympathetic manner.  Every part of the funeral process, from our initial telephone conversation to the registration and planning of the service was handled gently and we were supported at every stage.

Visiting Mum in the chapel of rest was very dignified and comforting thanks to the way she had been looked after by Sam.  Even during the service, we were discreetly guided and Dewi’s professionalism and unwavering care made a difficult day more bearable.

Dewi carried out my Dad’s wishes for a simple graveside service to the letter. Adding in a few extras to make it even more special. When Mum passed away 3 years later this January, I had no hesitation on calling Dewi again. Mum wanted a simple Church service and again Dewi arranged it all, exactly as she wanted. He arranged the most beautiful flowers. He takes care of everything. I can’t recommend using him highly enough.

Dewi and Sam have been exceptional in their support and advice when organising our mother’s funeral. They were always available to discuss any queries, questions that we had and put our minds at ease. As a Welsh speaking family, we really appreciated being able to converse with Dewi ‘yn Gymraeg’. He was very helpful in liasing with the local chapel and preacher. Everything was carried out in a very professional and respectful manner. They are a very personable and caring couple. We as a family cannot thank you enough for arranging an extremely personal funeral for my wife. Brenda. Sadly, she passed away relatively young for this day and age. So, I knew no-one in the immediate family had already been through the process of arranging a funeral for a wife and mother. I think it’s safe to say we were all incredibly overwhelmed, but once we met you both, we were so comforted to know we had your help.

We as a family really wanted to celebrate Brenda’s life, and you provided a professional and empathetic process to enable that to happen. It was apparent to all of us that you really care about all the people you deal with, which was evidenced by the support and guidance you provided us.

Can not put into words, the help, advice and support from both dewi and sam. We lost our friend and neighbour of 24years in june. His son and I had ideas and suggestions of how we would like to say our goodbyes. From the way he was dressed. What we would like him to have with him. To the music to be played. Even having his nickname on his casket so people knew, in his own words , that it was him.

Dewi and sam listened , they cared and they helped make it happen. From the custard creams and dog biscuits in his pocket. His nickname clearly visible to see. To the accomplished accordinist who played the music beautifully. And the final custard cream for family and friends offered on a plate as they were leaving. Not one thing was left out or we werent told , that it maybe be difficult to do. Each and every step we felt their support. And we will always be grateful.

Superb service from Dewi and his team. Nothing was too much trouble – friendly, efficient and so respectful. Some lovely personal touches suggested and incorporated into the funeral experience – these meant such a lot and were much appreciated. Very personable staff. A sad time made bearable by the amazing care and support. I contacted Dewi And Sam after my mom died in colwyn bay community hospital, from just speaking to Dewi i knew mom was in good care. From arranging death certificate “which these days are hard to get within a week” to funeral arrangements, vicar and the plot Dewi and Sam did it all so i had nothing to worry about and on the day it all went like clock work. Very compassionate all the which for my 87 year old dad meant a lot i can not praise this small family run business enough thank you again both.

When I went to Dewi I had no idea how to organise a funeral and didn’t know where to turn.

Mam chose Dewi for her funeral after attending the funeral of a neighbour that he arranged. She was so impressed that she insisted on making sure we knew that he was the one even saying so days before she went. He was professional, caring and friendly and took care of everything. I couldn’t of wished for a nicer man, to take care of my son. Not only did Dewi look after my son, he also made mine and my husbands life a lot easier to mourn.
